Cumberland Council is asking the community to have their say on the proposed upgrades at New Glasgow Park, located in Factory Street, Granville.

Mayor Greg Cummings said Cumberland Council was happy to be upgrading the facilities for local residents and surrounding businesses to improve the access to and the overall use of the park.

“Previous community consultation identified the need for new lighting and seating facilities. Cumberland Council have welcomed the opportunity to give New Glasgow Park a face lift for the benefit of our community,” Mayor Greg Cummings said.

“Council’s proposed works include a safe children’s play area, brand new seating and shelters, upgrades to roadside fencing, and the extension of the shared cycle path through the park with low bollard lighting. We want our community to have their say on the location of the proposed works to ensure the park upgrades meets the needs of the people who use it.

“The community feedback we receive will play a vital role in the finalisation of the concept design as well as contribute to the overall aesthetics of and activities in the park. Residents can have their say via online submissions or by attending our information session on Friday 31  August or Saturday 8 September.

“The proposed upgrades will provide great benefits to the local community. Residents will be able to enjoy the new child’s play area and basketball hoop. We want workers at surrounding businesses to have somewhere safe, clean and accessible to enjoy their lunch outdoors.

“I encourage everyone to take the opportunity to have their say to help bring New Glasgow Park into a new life.”

The information sessions will be held:

  • Friday 31 August from 4 – 6.00pm at New Glasgow Park, Granville
  • Saturday 8 September from 10am-12pm at New Glasgow Park, Granville

Residents can have their say at haveyoursay.cumberland.nsw.gov.au until 11 September 2018.
