Locals from all over NSW are being encouraged to Love Where We Live by getting involved in Graffiti Removal Day on Sunday 21 October 2018.

“Graffiti vandalism costs local councils, businesses, households and the NSW Government millions of dollars each year,” Mayor Greg Cummings said.

“This is money which could be invested into roads, sporting facilities, schools and hospitals.”

“Graffiti Removal Day draws attention to the fight against graffiti vandalism and encourages people to get involved in the removal and prevention of graffiti,” Graffiti Removal Day Chairman Bob Aitken said.

“By taking action in your street, your suburb, or your city we can all Love Where We Live by making sure our place is one to be proud of.

“Last year across NSW over 1,800 volunteers removed more than 30,050m2 of graffiti from nearly 500 sites. We hope this year will be even bigger and better.”

“We would encourage everyone to get involved in the fight against graffiti by volunteering on Sunday 21 October.

“People who volunteer to help out on the day will be supplied with free cleaning material, paint, safety equipment and training on how to safely remove graffiti.

“People can register or suggest a clean-up site by completing a form at www.graffitiremovalday.org.au.

“People who cannot make it on the Day can still support this great event by promoting it on social media, including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter using the hashtags #GRD18 and #LoveWhereWeLive.”
