Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Advisory Committee

Advises Council on matters about Domestic and Family Violence Prevention in Cumberland.

Committee objectives

The purpose of the Committee is to:

  • Provide strategic advice to Council on issues relating to domestic and family violence (DFV) in the Cumberland Local Government Area (LGA).
  • Inform Council decision-making in relation to policies, programs, communication strategies, and service delivery to address and prevent domestic and family violence.
  • Assist Council to consult and respond to the needs of individuals and communities affected by DFV in the Cumberland LGA.
  • Promote coordination and collaboration among service providers, government agencies, and community organisations responding to DFV.
  • Raise awareness of DFV and advocate for prevention, early intervention, and support services.
