Cumberland City Council have partnered with the Auburn State Emergency Services (SES) to assist with relief efforts for residents impacted by flooding and wet weather.

Mayor Steve Christou said Council have dropped more than ten tonnes of sand to the Auburn SES unit which has been used to fill sandbags.

“If anyone has been affected by the wet weather, sandbags are free to collect from 19-31 Killeen Street, Auburn and can be used to create flood walls.

“I encourage all residents to stay safe and look after each other, particularly those travelling to and from Cumberland City.

“These are testing times, with floods across the state during a pandemic recovery. I applaud the Auburn SES and the SES services across the state for their response.
