With our iconic Aussie summer on its way, it’s time to pull out your swimsuit and goggles and get ready to make a splash at one of Cumberland City’s swim centres this summer.

“We want to support our residents and help them live active and healthy lives,” said Mayor Steve Christou.

“With lap swimming and Aqua fitness programs restarting with squads, adult, women only and parents and babies classes, there are programs for the whole family to take advantage of.

“Entry is free for seniors and concession card holders on Tuesdays for eligible residents living within our local government area.”

“Following a Mayoral Minute this week, Council will also investigate extending free entry to include every Thursday from July next year, to encourage seniors and concession card holders to stay healthy and active.”

Recreational swimming and general entry to the pool is in place now. Bookings are not required, however, once the pools reach the maximum number of swimmers allowed in accordance with the COVID-19 safety plan, attendees will either need to wait to ensure regulations can be adhered to or come back at another time.

Wentworthville Swim Centre is currently closed for a major refurbishment and is expected to reopen in February 2021.
