The Granville Centre will transform into a mass vaccination centre courtesy of Council’s partnership with Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) from Monday 8 November.

The Centre which generally hosts sports and community events has been repurposed to deliver COVID-19 vaccinations to the Western Sydney community following the success of the Qudos Bank Arena Vaccination Centre (closing Sunday 7 November).

Mayor Steve Christou said the facility is an ideal space to provide increased vaccination access to the community.

“We’re proud of our resilient and responsive community and thank them for the soaring vaccination rates we’re achieving to protect everyone,” said Mayor Christou.

“Getting vaccinated is fastest and safest way out of the pandemic so this initiative is a great outcome for Western Sydney.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to host the clinic in the heart of Western Sydney at one of our most iconic assets. Let’s roll up our sleeves and get the jab done.”

The new clinic will help ensure ongoing and convenient access to COVID-19 vaccinations. The vaccination program has been incredibly successful and with the new clinic located in the Cumberland City LGA, the community will continue to have access to vaccinations which will help Western Sydney achieve the 95 per cent double dose mark.

The latest statistics tell us that Blacktown and The Hills LGAs are over 95 per cent fully vaccinated, Parramatta LGA at 91.3 per cent and the Cumberland City LGA at 88.9 per cent.

Bookings are strongly encouraged; however walk-in vaccinations will also be available.
