Sydney’s most Instagrammable flower festival is gearing up with a line-up of live entertainment, food and fun activities for the whole family.

For only two weeks of the year the beautiful cherry blossoms will be in full bloom with thousands of visitors set to wander through the Cherry Trail, with multiple sessions throughout the day to ensure each visitor’s experience is as enjoyable and relaxed as possible.

This year’s festival is gearing up to deliver a bumper program for the whole family that will include a festival favourite, the 9-hole mini golf course, an extensive stage program plus a range of workshops for children and adults. Attendees can also relax and enjoy Japanese inspired drinks at the Izakaya Bar, or indulge their taste buds in the Japanese Food Village that will be presenting the best in Sydney’s food scene, including Japanese fusion cuisine from Tokyo Lamington, Brooklyn Boy Bagels, Thicc Cookies, Onigiri Lab, Chatime, FirePop, OMU, 15cenchi and more!

Fan favourite Tokyo Lamington said they can’t wait to be back for their second year at the event.

“We are so excited to be coming back for more cherry blossom fun again! We have a whole new menu this year with a few surprises,” said Eddie, co-founder of Tokyo Lamington.

Sydney based Japanese bakery, 15cenchi will also be making their debut this year, serving authentic Japanese cheesecakes and custard pudding with burnt caramel sauce.

“We are thrilled and delighted to be a part of the upcoming Cherry Blossom Festival. It provides us with the perfect platform to share our love for Japanese culture and cuisine with the community,” a bakery spokesperson said.

Cumberland Mayor Lisa Lake said Council is proud to host this iconic event that showcases Japanese culture and the attractions at Auburn Botanic Gardens.

“The Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival is a celebration of Japanese culture, traditions and food to mark the cherry blossom trees coming into bloom. We’re looking forward to bringing a ‘Slice of Japan’ to Western Sydney,” she said.

“Our program and vendors are really engaged with Japanese culture. As we head into spring it’s a wonderful time of year to get out and experience natural attractions at the Auburn Botanic Gardens.”

To make the experience effortless, festival goers and residents are being encouraged to utilise Council’s free bus transfers from Auburn Station to the gardens. Limited parking will also be available near the gardens, see the festival website for the most up to date travel and parking information.
