Cumberland City Council, in partnership with Go Drivin, invites residents and visitors to explore the rich stories, culture, and landscapes of Western Sydney through a new self-guided driving adventure.
Cumberland is a thriving community, where young families, professionals, and individuals from all walks of life come together, united by a shared appreciation for its cultural and historical heritage. This dynamic mix contributes to the area’s vibrant character, rooted in its bustling town centres and bolstered by a wide range of cultural events and high-quality community programs. With a strong foundation in its heritage, Cumberland continues to embrace growth, driving forward a vision of development that honours its past while looking toward a bright future.
Council is offering an exciting way to explore both its iconic Cumberland landmarks and lesser-known treasures through its partnership with Go Drivin, a road-trip discovery platform designed to connect travellers with the hidden gems across Australia. Each stop is carefully designed to surprise and engage, providing an authentic journey through Cumberland’s vibrant community, at the driver’s own pace.
Cumberland Mayor Ola Hamed praised the initiative for its ability to uncover the area’s hidden historical landmarks, highlighting local cultural histories, and showcasing how Cumberland has grown into one of Australia’s most culturally diverse and vibrant communities.
“This initiative offers a fresh, flexible way for people to explore Cumberland. Whether it’s a hidden landmark, a leafy park, or a local eatery, it’s an invitation to connect with our community and appreciate the beauty around us. These journeys highlight Cumberland’s transformation, from its deep roots to its vibrant, diverse present. More than just a road trip, it’s a chance to experience the layers that make up Cumberland’s identity,” said Mayor Hamed.
Go Drivin Founder Winston Reinboth also expressed his enthusiasm for the project, noting that this partnership allows locals and tourists alike to uncover places they may not have known existed.
“Go Drivin is all about discovery, and Cumberland has so many stories and places worth uncovering,” said Founder Winston Reinboth.
“These self-guided drives are more than just a road trip. They’re an invitation to connect with the people, culture, and history that make this community unique. By blending storytelling with exploration, we’re giving locals and visitors a fresh way to experience Western Sydney while shining a spotlight on the hidden gems and vibrant character that defines Cumberland.”
