Remembrance Day, also known as Armistice Day or Poppy Day, is observed on November 11 each year in various countries, particularly those that were part of the British Commonwealth. It commemorates the end of World War I on November 11, 1918, and honors the sacrifices of members of the armed forces who died in the line of duty during both World Wars and other conflicts.
On the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month, a minute’s silence is observed and dedicated to those soldiers who died fighting to protect the nation.
