World famous Hello Kitty will be gracing Australian shores for the first time to join the Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival to be held at Auburn Botanic Gardens from 17 August – 26 August 2018.

Hello Kitty will be in Australia to celebrate Hanami, the Japanese custom of flower viewing, as the cherry blossom (Sakura) bloom for a special two week period.

Festival goers can come and say Konnichiwa to Hello Kitty and her friends when they step inside Hello Kitty’s own beauty bar for a free cool makeover. As part of the Hello Kitty makeover guests can get hair styling with glitter and with the iconic Hello Kitty bow, have their nails blinged with Hello Kitty nail art and diamantes, or get their very own Hello Kitty temporary tattoo.

Speaking to event organisers as she arrived for the first time ever in Australia, Hello Kitty said she was very excited to be in the country for the Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival.

“Hanami is always fun to do. I love it because I can enjoy having a picnic with my friends.”

Hello Kitty completed her first ever Australian interview giving tips about what she will be wearing “definitely something PINK!” and insights into her own favourite flower  ‘the daisy.”

Hello Kitty’s advice to get the best photo of at Cherry Blossom Festival is to “smile big and say Kawaaaiiii!’.”

Tickets are free for Cumberland residents who register online and start from $5 for non-Cumberland residents.
