Cumberland Council is once again set to hold a community event for Australia Day at Holroyd Gardens in Merrylands on Friday 26 January from 6pm to 9pm.

The annual event will feature live entertainment from local musicians including Mitch Tambo, Tarisai Vushe and Cassy and the Bossa Beats, a variety of food trucks and market stalls and a spectacular fireworks display.

This year, eventgoers will also be treated to a special visit from Australia’s favourite Blue Heeler sister duo, Bluey and Bingo who will be performing as part of the Bluey and Bingo Live Interactive Experience.

The day will also include the Citizen of the Year Awards, held in conjunction with a special Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony at The Holroyd Centre, where 50 new residents will join the Cumberland community as our newest Australian citizens.

To finish the event, a fireworks display is set to light up the night sky at 8:50pm to conclude celebrations for the day.
