Local Volunteer Jasmine Issa

Local Guildford resident Jasmine Issa is the founder of Project Generosity, a non-for-profit (NGO) organisation which aims to bring a smile to those going through a tough time.

The NGO was launched five years ago after Jasmine heard about the fatal illness of a 1-year-old boy, named Yanis, and the family's difficulties.

She pledged her time and dedication to receiving donations for a "comfort box" which was put together and delivered to the family.

Soon after, Yanis passed away.

"I still get goosebumps every time I think of this story," Jasmine says.

Project Generosity was established in remembrance of the small comfort Yanis's family were able to experience with a simple act of kindness.

Through the work of helpful volunteers and the community donors, Jasmine has been able to assist numerous people who are in need.

On behalf of Cumberland City Council, we thank our volunteers for being pillars of our community.
