Back to Guildford Festival

Come along to this free family event and explore the upgraded Guildford Laneway.

Location: Guildford Road, between Railway terrace and Bolton Street

Following upgrades to the Guildford Laneway as part of the Safer Cities: Her Way Program, Council will be holding the Back To Guildford Festival to showcase the recent works.

The upgrades will include new furniture including tables and benches, installation of smart technology, lighting, CCTV cameras, mobile phone charging stations.

The public art mural which is part of the upgrade has now been completed.

The event will include live entertainment, roving performers, children’s rides, arts and crafts activities, food and market stalls.

Road Closures

Road Closure on Saturday 25 May from 5am to 11.59pm

  • Guildford Road between Bolton Street and Railway Terrace (Both directions)
  • Cross Street between Collins Lane and Guildford Road (Both directions)
  • Station Street between Collins Lane and Guildford Road (Both directions)
  • Entry to Talbot Road from Guildford Road closed.

In addition to the road closures, the Railway Terrace Guildford Road pedestrian area will be monitored by event and traffic personnel.

Detours

Access around the event site will be maintained by a detour. The detour loop will include Railway Terrace, Mountford Avenue, Marian Street, Bolton, Cross and Gordon Streets.
