Civic Park Re-Opening

Civic Park in Pendle Hill has officially opened to the community following major upgrades as part of the Civic Park and Pendle Creek Improvement Project. I hope you enjoy this revitalised open green space, which includes a new and accessible playground and nature play space, outdoor fitness facilities, picnic areas, half-court basketball court, carpark, accessible pathways, lighting upgrades and improvements to the Pendle Creek Wetlands. This project has been funded by Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program in association with Cumberland Council.

Turkish Centenary Festival

I was honoured to attend the Turkish Centenary Festival which took place across two days at Auburn Gallipoli Mosque. The festival was a vibrant celebration of 100 years of Turkish cultural heritage, achievements and stories. There was something for everyone, including a traditional bazaar, food stalls, an ice cream truck, activities and virtual reality experiences.

Candlelight Vigil

I was privileged to be invited by the Parramatta Cumberland Domestic Violence Prevention Committee to attend the Candlelight Vigil on Thursday 23 May at Parramatta Centenary Square. The escalation in domestic violence-related fatalities among women necessitates our collective action. We aim to stand together as a community and declare: Enough is Enough. Together, we can make a significant impact by supporting this cause and demonstrating our shared commitment to combating domestic violence.

If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic or family violence, please contact 1800 RESPECT (1800 737 732).

With Cumberland Council staff Rachna Soni, Shatha Jajo, Clr Farooqui and officers from Cumberland PAC at the Parramatta Cumberland Domestic Violence Prevention Committee’s Candlelight Vigil
